Immediate opening for an Automatic Optical Inspection (AOI) Operator – 2nd Shift in Brea, CA who possesses:
- 3 to 5 years of experience in electronics assembly manufacturing
- Some knowledge of AOI equipment is a plus, and familiarity with IPC-610/J-STD-001 standards
- Ability to read technical documents also important.

FULL DESCRIPTION:
The selected candidate will be responsible for:
- Responsible for setup and operation of 2D AOI (Automated Optical Inspection) machines.
- Perform visual and dimensional inspections of printed circuit board assemblies to ensure workmanship that complies with the appropriate requirements from engineering drawings, process specifications, industry standards (IPC-610, J-STD-001), and customer-specific criteria.
- Uses precision measuring instruments such as smart tweezers and calipers and pin gauges to determine adherence to electrical and dimensional specifications on first articles, in-process inspections, and production runs.
- Ability to operate equipment in a fast-paced electro-mechanical production environment.
- Communicate the defects not captured by equipment to responsible personnel for enhancement of program integrity.
- Communicate to assembly operators any of the defects being noted during the AOI operations so that corrections can be quickly implemented.
- Perform and record results of first article inspections and in-process inspections of assemblies and input data into the associated database.
- Understands rules and requirements for proper handling of electronic components: Electrostatic Static Discharge (ESD) while adhering to all ESD & handling requirements.
- Properly handle and dispose of all waste, including hazardous wastes that are generated in daily operations while maintaining the cleanliness of the work area.
- General understanding of FOD and 6S.
The selected candidate will also possess:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in electronics assembly manufacturing or similar industry
- Knowledge of Automated Optical Inspection equipment and procedures
- Comprehension of IPC-610 and J-STD-001 standards
- Must understand how electronic components are oriented and be able to distinguish the different part numbers
- Ability to interpret Engineering Documentation and work instructions
Salary Range: $20.00 to $25.50/hour
