FULL DESCRIPTIONWe are looking for a Benefits Manager that can lead, set up and implement the strategic planning, administration, and optimization of employee benefits programs across the organization. This role ensures compliance, cost-effectiveness, and employee satisfaction while supporting the company's mission to attract and retain top talent. The Benefits Manager supervises the benefits team, partners with leadership to design competitive offerings, and serves as the primary point of contact for employees regarding benefits-related inquiries. By fostering a culture of wellness, communication, and operational efficiency, this role directly contributes to employee engagement and organizational success.
 
The selected candidate will be responsible for:
  • Benefits Strategy & Planning
    1. Design and execute benefits strategies that support organizational objectives, meet workforce needs, and align with financial guidelines.
  • Program Administration
    1. Manage the day-to-day operations of all benefit plans, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, retirement programs, and employee wellness initiatives.
  • Compliance
    1. Maintain full compliance with all relevant federal, state, and local regulations (ACA, ERISA, COBRA, etc.) and ensure programs are administered accordingly.
  • Vendor Management
    1. Oversee partnerships with carriers, brokers, and consultants; negotiate agreements, track performance, and ensure high service standards.
  • Team Leadership
    1. Lead and support the benefits team by providing coaching, direction, and performance oversight to ensure successful program delivery.
  • Employee Communication & Education
    1. Create and manage communication plans, oversee open enrollment activities, and deliver ongoing education to enhance employee understanding and participation.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting
    1. Review and interpret benefits data, prepare detailed reports, and provide leadership with actionable insights for planning and cost-management.
  • Process Improvement
    1. Identify opportunities to enhance benefits processes, introducing improvements that elevate accuracy, efficiency, and the overall employee experience.
 
The selected candidate will also possess:
  • Education
    1. Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • Experience
    1. Minimum of 5 years of experience in benefits administration, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • Certifications
    1. PHR/SPHR or CEBS certification preferred.
  • Skills
    1. Strong understanding of benefits programs, regulatory requirements, HRIS/benefits platforms, and vendor management practices.
    2. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Leadership & Communication
    1. Demonstrated leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to mentor teams, collaborate with stakeholders, and manage sensitive information professionally.
  • Preferred Qualifications
    1. Experience managing benefits for multi-state or unionized workforces.
    2. Familiarity with construction, industrial, or heavy-equipment industries.
    3. Experience in wellness program development, benefits benchmarking, or strategic benefits planning
 
Salary Range: $110-135k/year
