Immediate opening for a Chemistry Production Technician with a biotech company in San Diego, CA who possesses:      
        
  • Experience working in a chemistry lab
  • Understanding of cGMP regulations
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Suite (in particular, Excel), is required

FULL DESCRIPTION:   The individual for this position will be responsible for performing various laboratory and analytical techniques. This position supports the production of a medical device component.
    
The selected candidate will be responsible for:    
  • Independently or under partial supervision execute various standard laboratory practices and analytical techniques, including, but not limited to:
    • Chemical reactions
    • Extractions
    • Distillation
    • Filtration
    • Solution preparation
    • Sample preparation
    • Test methods: UV-VIS spectrophotometry, water content, viscosity, pH and conductivity
    • Equipment maintenance and calibration
    • Labeling
    • Packaging
    • Labware and general lab cleaning
  • Understanding of ISO 9001:2015 Standard, cGMPs, company QMS and company SOPs applicable to work performed
  • Understand and comply with statutory and regulatory requirements
  • Legibly and accurately complete production records and logs according to SOPs
  • Ability to assess the quality of products and intermediates
  • Follow Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) rules to reduce the risk of workplace injury
  • Demonstrate considerate and safe behaviors in the laboratory
  • Demonstrate accountability, high attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Proactively request assistance when needed to prevent deviations and investigations
  • Proactively communicate issues that could impact timing or compliance
  • Demonstrate appropriate time management to ensure work is performed within required production schedule timelines   
  • Demonstrate ability to lift up 50 pounds, endure repetitive motions, and stand for long periods of time
   
 The selected candidate will also possess:  
  • High school graduate or GED equivalent (minimum); Physical or Life Science background preferred
  • 0-5 years of applicable laboratory experience
  • Work experience in a cGMP environment preferred
  • Proficient math and computer skills  
         
         
       
     
Salary Range: $22-$23/hr
